We buy, collect and process scrap metal for UK mills, foundries and refiners. Weighed on a calibrated bridge, graded in front of you, paid by BACS the same working day.
The yard board
Scrap is worth what it actually is. We grade to standard trade codes in front of you and price against the LME, so the figure on your ticket is one you can check.
| Grade | Trade code | Typical form | £ / tonne | 7 day |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bright copper wire | Barley | Bare, unalloyed, 16 SWG and heavier | 6,940 | ▲ 1.4% |
| Copper No. 1 | Berry | Clean tube, busbar, clippings | 6,580 | ▲ 0.9% |
| Copper No. 2 | Birch / Cliff | Soldered, painted or tinned | 6,120 | ▼ 0.3% |
| Yellow brass | Honey | Fittings, valves, sheet offcuts | 3,880 | ▲ 0.6% |
| Alloy wheels | Troma | Cast alloy, tyres and weights off | 1,340 | ▲ 2.1% |
| Cast aluminium | Tense | Engine blocks, gearbox housings | 985 | ▼ 0.8% |
| Stainless 304 | 18/8 | Sheet, tank, pipe, catering plant | 1,065 | ▲ 0.4% |
| Soft lead | Racks | Roofing sheet, flashing, weights | 1,470 | ▲ 0.2% |
| Heavy melting steel | HMS 1 | 6 mm and over, cut to 1.5 m | 212 | ▼ 1.1% |
Indicative only. Your firm price is fixed at the weighbridge after grading, with any deduction for attachments, moisture or non-metallics itemised on the ticket.
Payment is by BACS to a named account. We cannot pay cash — the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 prohibits it.
What we buy
A mixed load gets paid at the lowest grade in it. We separate on arrival and pay each stream at its own price — the sorting is on us.
Barley · Berry · Birch/Cliff
We buy bright wire, tube, busbar and windings, and granulate insulated cable in house. Copper carries the widest spread between grades of any metal…
Troma · Tense · Taint/Tabor
Extrusion, sheet, alloy wheels, castings, UBC bales and machine shop turnings. Light, high volume, and heavily affected by attachments and coatings.
Honey · Ebony · Ocean
Plumbing fittings, valve bodies, radiator ends, gunmetal and lathe borings. Dense, valuable, and often mistaken for bronze.
HMS 1 · HMS 2 · Frag
Structural offcuts, plate, cast iron, rebar and end-of-life plant, with shearing and baling on site. Low value per tonne, high value in volume.
304 · 316 · 430
Grade tested by handheld XRF before pricing. Catering, brewing, chemical and fabrication scrap, where the difference between 304 and 316 is worth real money.
Racks · Zinc die-cast
Roofing lead, flashing, balance weights and die-cast zinc, handled under permit. Dense, valuable and subject to particular care over provenance.
How it works
The order matters — each step produces the document the next one depends on.
Tell us the metal, rough tonnage and site access. You get a slot and an indicative price within two hours.
Our own hiab, skip or roll-on vehicle arrives with containers sized to the job. Site left swept.
Gross and tare taken on a calibrated bridge. The ticket is printed and sent to you before sorting begins.
Sorted, XRF tested where it matters, deductions listed line by line. Come and watch, or watch the camera feed.
Self-billing invoice, waste transfer note and BACS payment to your registered account, same working day.
